Our next story takes us to the northern region of the capital... where every weekend... a special group of children are treated to English lessons... as part of a good cause. Arirang's Min Sunhee reports. Every Saturday for two hours in the afternoon... children at Gemma's Home... an orphanage in northern Seoul... are treated to an English class by native speakers. In a country where acquiring a foreign language requires a substantial amount of money... the kids here are enjoying the privilege for free... thanks to this group of friends from abroad. "It's great. The little kids, they are so happy and so enthusiastic. We have a lot of fun doing it. We come every weekend and they have big smiles for us. We get as much out of it as we give them, so it's great."(Joe Mason said) Their first acquaintance took place back in May... when the foreign teachers happened to come across the local volunteer organization... Coree... which offers free translation services to foreign visitors at certain tourist spots in the capital. "We met them in Insa-dong, they were there every weekend and we just found out what the organization does. We were looking for something to do to help work with children and help the community." According to the director of the 20-year old orphanage... the teachers are not only offering the kids a chance to learn a foreign tongue... but also the unconditional love and attention that they probably crave the most. The volunteers... meanwhile... are hoping that more people will participate in the program. Min Sunhee, Arirang T-V.
