Education Volunteer Work
Coree support Korean and foreigner volunteers in a help program for orphaned children in Korea. Today, English is a vital ability to a child's future and the majority of children are involved in extra English education outside of the public schooling. Our volunteers work together to offer English education for these children who are less likely to receive such help otherwise. Coree Volunteer Group have been teaching about 80 orphans English and help in five orphanages over two years. There are 3 orphanages in Seoul, 1 in Anyang City, 1 in Taegu City.
Our volunteers come from many different walks of live and even for many other countries. Foreign volunteers come for New Zealand, Canada, U.S. and England.
Language Volunteer Work
Coree's language volunteers may offer guidance and information services. But there is more to it then first meets the eye. Actually these brief interactions are meant to open our minds for a real life lesson. We are making an effort to improve the travel conditions in Korea by addressing the language barriers. Our goal is to let Korean young people know about the importance of different languages and the barriers they can create in Korea. They give a helping hand with a genuine smile and a nice hello. They are there to direct the puzzling foreigners troubled in our streets. Their sacrifices are some of their free time; but the reward is our shared understanding which is the first step we can make for a positive change.
These good Samaritan deeds are a significant to developing a pool of local volunteers and offering a invitation to foreigners to get involve in some charity volunteer work.
Number of Volunteers : Korean - about 65, Foreigner - about 15 now
